As per Hindu Puranas Maa Kalubai Devi killed Devil on the night of Pausha Pournima and was victorious.
This is the reason that Every year on Pausha Pournima there is a great yatra of the Goddess.
One of the main attractions of this yatra is Goddess Chhabina.

माँ मांढरदेवी का अर्थ है माँ काळुबाई या माँ कालेश्वरी देवी।
माँ काळुबाई (मांढरदेवी देवस्थान) सतारा जिले में एक प्रसिद्ध हिंदू तीर्थ स्थल है।
इस स्थान पर हर साल कई भक्त आते हैं, और देवी के दर्शन करते हैं।
माँ काळुबाई देवी को माँ पार्वती का ही एक रूप माना जाता है।
सह्याद्री के पर्वतो में एक पहाड़ी पर आई काळुबाई जी का मंदिर है।
छत्रपति श्री शिवाजी महाराज के शासनकाल के दौरान माँ काळुबाई का मंदिर बनाया गया है।
यह काळुबाई देवी का स्वयंभू स्थान है और यह प्रतिमा चतुर्भुज है ।
हिंदू पुराण नुसरा मां काळुबाई देवी ने पौष पौर्णिमा की रात को आसुर को मार गिराया और विजयी रहीं, यही वजह है कि पौष पौर्णिमा को देवी की बहोत बडी यात्रा होती है। इस यात्रा का एक मुख्य आकर्षण देवी छबीना है।
